Position Summary:The basic function of the Hardware Installation Technician is to assemble metal products, attach sub-assemblies, and install fasteners.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Analyze work orders, work pieces, and blueprints to determine process, materials, and sequence of operations required to assemble parts.Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, rivets or fasteners.Install hardware such as fasteners, terminals and electrical components.Operate riveting machines, or other installation equipment to assist in assembly operation.Make minor repairs and clean tools between uses.Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.Communicate and confer with Working Supervisor or Team Lead production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve problems that may arise.Submit change requests as necessary to help keep production times competitive.Other job duties as assigned by Supervisor.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Read, write and speak English fluently.Operate and use required tools and equipment safely.Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, specifications, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.Calculate figures and formulas that pertain to the work area.Self-starter must be able to work with minimal supervision.Computer literate.Flexibility to work inside of a fast pace environment which may ask for quick change in product being produced.Work well in a team environment, demonstrate good communication skills, and maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.Education and/or Experience:Record of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.Preferred: Six months to one year related experience and/or training.Physical Demands Include:Sitting, standing, and walking.Use of fingers, hands and arms to handle, grip, and grasp objects, controls, parts, tools and to operate required equipment; and reach, push and pull with hands and arms.Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.Being able to see (20/25 vision with or without glasses) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.Work Environment:This person will work in a manufacturing environment which is temperature controlled. The person will be working near moving mechanical parts. This setting involves manufacturing equipment with others working in close proximity.
